Membership meeting convenes Monday, June 17th. Join us for networking, economic updates and a presentation by our guest speaker Patrick Bell.
As the Assistant Commissioner for Diversity and Opportunity at the Louisiana Department of Insurance, Rev. Bell works tirelessly with minority groups to increase their participation in the insurance sector. His efforts include the creation of the Risk Management and Insurance Program at Southern University and the Careers in Insurance Program for high school students.

“What does ‘Reimagine’ mean to you?” For us, it signifies transforming the present into something new and exciting! This month, we had the privilege of co-chairing the Business Summit with the North Baton Rouge Collaborative, alongside the inspiring Board President Lack Sherman, Lakeisha Robichaux, April Hawthorne, and many local resource partners.
Our event was a testament to the tenacity and resilience of our thriving local business owners, who generously shared their experiences and best practices as keynote speakers.
Additionally, students from North Baton Rouge high schools were given the unique opportunity to tour the Coca-Cola Bottling facility, effectively merging their business and chemistry knowledge with real-world corporate experience.
While each journey is unique, with the right partnerships and structures in place, we continue to reimagine and transform our community, together! ✨ #BatonRouge #CommunityGrowth #BusinessSummit #Reimagine

Way to kick off the NEW YEAR#NBR 👏🏽💛💙For the first time in the program’s 39 years, Southern University’s School of Nursing (SUSON) has been voted the Best Nursing School in the United States.
The university announced that SUSON was named a finalist, along with Emory University School of Nursing, Florida State University College of Nursing, the University of Michigan School of Nursing, and the University of Washington School of Nursing.
Dr. Sandra Brown, the dean of the College of Nursing and Allied Health, said this award holds a special significance for the program.
“Winning this award is more than just a recognition for SUSON, it’s a win for the entire Jaguar Nation,” Brown said. “We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who voted and supported this moment of recognition. Together, we have demonstrated the remarkable power, passion, and pride of the Jaguar Nation.”💛💙👏🏽
